Dec 04,2024
Bulletproof vests can be divided according to different classification criteria, mainly including the following types:
Categorized by usage scenarios:
Police type: mainly used for police and other law enforcement officers, providing basic protection.
Military type: used in the military, providing higher level of protection and durability.
Categorized by material:
Soft body body armor: mainly made of high-strength fiber materials (e.g. Kevlar), lightweight, soft, suitable for daily wear, but with limited protection.
Hard body body armor: mainly composed of metal, ceramic and other hard materials, strong protective ability, but the weight is larger, affecting the wearer's freedom of action.
Soft and hard composite body body armor: combining the advantages of soft and hard materials, providing higher protection ability and better comfort.
Classified by protection level:
Low-level body armor: such as Class Ⅰ and ⅡA, mainly to protect against handgun bullets, light weight and lower price.
Medium-level body armor: such as ⅢA and Ⅲ level, can protect rifle bullets, but still more bulky.
High-level body armor: such as Level IV, can protect against high-powered bullets, but is heavier and more expensive.
Categorized by appearance:
Bulletproof undershirt: the most common type, suitable for everyday wear.
Full-Protection Body Armor: Provides more comprehensive protection and is typically used in high-risk environments.
Women's Body Armor: Body armor designed for women with a focus on comfort and style.
Bulletproof Vest works by absorbing the kinetic energy of a bullet or shrapnel through the ballistic layer material, thus reducing the damage to the human body. Common bulletproof layer materials include metal (e.g., special steel, aluminum alloy), ceramic (e.g., boron carbide, silicon carbide), and polymer materials (e.g., Kevlar, polyethylene).
